Spec backfill (2026-08-07, round 5, batch 2): flagging before filling much -- see module docstring for the full writeup. Every source found for this exact reference disagrees with the stored 40mm diameter AND with each other: secondhandhorology.com gives 42mm case / 11mm thick / 52mm lug-to-lug / leather strap; TheWatchAgency gives 41mm / 8mm thick / steel bracelet. This reference isn't on Hamilton's current site (it predates the current H-10-caliber Khaki Field generation -- uses the older ETA 2824-2), so it's a thinly-documented older ref, not something with an authoritative source to settle the disagreement. Deliberately left diameter untouched (already non-NULL) plus case_thickness_mm, lug_to_lug_mm, strap_type, strap_material, clasp_type, and dial_color (one EveryWatch listing for nominally this same ref says Champagne, not Black) all NULL rather than pick a source -- this row may describe a somewhat different specific configuration than any one source found. Only filled what's consistent across every source checked: Automatic movement, ETA 2824-2 caliber, 25 jewels, sapphire crystal, stainless steel case, 100m (10 bar) water resistance, date complication. lug_width_mm=22 already on file matches the one source that gave it (secondhandhorology), no conflict there. One source cites a $610 RRP vs $750 on file -- plausibly an older/different-year price point for a since-superseded reference, not flagged as a hard conflict. Unresolved: diameter_mm (flagged, not touched), case_thickness_mm, lug_to_lug_mm, bezel_type, dial_color, strap_type, strap_material, clasp_type, year_introduced, year_discontinued (this ref reads as discontinued but no year found), watch_type.
Follow-up (2026-08-08, round 8): re-checked as part of a dial_color/strap_type backfill pass. Found a third real EveryWatch dealer listing (id 13164594, 'Japan') explicitly Champagne dial / 42mm / Leather strap -- distinct from the Black/41mm/Steel-bracelet cluster (TheWatchAgency, secondhandhorology's OEM spec sheet, and a separate EveryWatch listing id 11972271 all agree Black/steel). This isn't just cross-source measurement noise -- it reads as two real, distinct physical configurations both sold under reference H705450 (secondhandhorology's leather-strap unit is plausibly an aftermarket Barton strap swap on an otherwise-Black/steel watch, but the Champagne listing is a different dial color entirely, not a strap swap). dial_color and strap_type deliberately left NULL again rather than pick one configuration -- this needs Tony's call on which configuration this catalog row actually represents, not another guess. Market research pass logged separately, pricing not affected by which dial variant.
